Fetty Wap will not perform at an upcoming gig in Leeds as he recovers from a broken leg sustained in a recent road accident.
The US rapper, who hit the UK Top Ten with his single ‘Trap Queen’ this summer, was scheduled to perform at the 1Xtra Live event in Leeds on October 17. Tinie Tempah, Fekky and Miguel will all still perform as planned on a line-up that also includes Lethal Bizzle, Stormzy, Natalie La Rose, Flo Rida, Kid Ink and Krept & Konan.
A statement said: “Unfortunately Fetty Wap will not be able to perform at 1Xtra Live in Leeds following his recent accident, and we are really sorry for all the fans who were looking forward to seeing him perform live. Everyone at 1Xtra wishes him a speedy recovery.”
The rapper updated fans on his condition following news of the crash last Saturday, and clarified that his condition was not as bad as first feared.
However, it is not just broken bones that Fetty Wap must contend with. CBS News reports that the rapper was notified of proceedings against him for driving without a licence, not having insurance and failing to produce a vehicle registration card.
A statement released by his manager shortly after the crash read: “Fetty Wap was involved in a motorcycle incident earlier today. He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. His family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time. We will provide an update on his condition as it becomes available.”
