FIVE SPLIT!

The boyband are no more - because they wanted to go out at the top...

FIVE decided to split because they wanted to go out on the top, the band revealed this afternoon (September 27).

Speaking on MTV in an address to fans, the band revealed that they decided the time was right and rather than start sliding out the of charts they wanted to go now.

Denying rumours of rifts and major problems within the boyband, J said: “As of today Five are no more. We all love each other more than ever and don’t want fans to feel sad.”

Rich from the band revealed that the day was taking its toll: “It’s the second most difficult day of our entire career,” he said. “The most difficult being when our manager Bob died.”

The band would not be drawn on whether or not any of the members would be undertaking mooted solo careers, claiming no one had discussed the move yet.

It is thought Five, who recently released third album ‘Kingsize’, will release farewell single ‘Close To Me’ in October. The accompanying video will be a retrospective montage charting their career.
