Florence And The Machine played a special charity gig in London last week, with singer Florence Welch covering Fleetwood Mac during the show.
Welch has long been vocal of her love for the band, having posed for a photo with Stevie Nicks ahead of Fleetwood Mac’s show at London’s The O2 last May.
Playing a War Child gig at St John at Hackney Church ahead of the Brit Awards last week, Welch performed a stripped-back cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Silver Springs’ with the backing of an acoustic guitar, piano and tambourine. Watch footage beneath.
Florence And The Machine will headline a British Summer Time show at London’s Hyde Park later this year, with rapper Kendrick Lamar also performing. The pair will be supported by Jamie XX, Cat Power, Todd Terje, Blood Orange and more.
Welch previously said of the news: “It’s a real honour to headline Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park. It’s an iconic place to perform, especially for a British artist.”
“I grew up in London. All of my first gigs were here. We will put on something really special. What’s amazing is that we have free reign, so we are going to make something magical happen!”
