Yesterday we revealed Florence And The Machine’s brand new track ‘What The Water Gave Me’, and overall NME.COM users are pleased with Florence Welch’s first new material since her 2009 debut ‘Lungs’. Scroll down to hear the song.
“Bloody hell this is brilliant – loving the Hammond organ in the background too,” said James Thomas.
Charlotte Osborne was just as keen, commenting: “Simply beautiful. I was expecting to be let down as I didn’t think she could even come close to replicating the perfection of ‘Lungs’. After hearing this though, I am astounded. I believe she will have the same success all over again and am looking forward to its release even more.”
Some people however, were still impressed, but less effusive in their praise. Noel O Donovan thought the track was: “very nice…but doesn’t have the knock out value of ‘Dog Days Are Over’…she should just bite the bullet and duet with Kate Bush.” Dan Crawshaw meanwhile asked if “anyone else hear[s] a little Arcade Fire in this? Liking it a lot.”
