Florence + The Machine set for third Number One album in Official UK Chart

Jamie xx and Slaves both on course to debut in top five with their debut albums

Florence And The Machine‘ new album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ is new at Number One in the Official UK Album Chart according to today’s (June 3) midweek update.

The album, Florence Welch’s third, is currently outselling the rest of the Top Five combined. If she holds on to her lead, it’ll mark Welch’s third consecutive chart-topping studio album, after ‘Lungs’ (2009) and ‘Ceremonials’ (2011).

Other new entries in this week’s Official Album Chart at today’s midweek stage include Slaves debut record ‘Are You Satisfied?’ at Number Five and The Darkness‘ latest effort, new at Number Six. Jamie xx is new at Number Three with his solo album ‘In Colour’.

Elsewhere in the Top 40 there are new entries from Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro (2), Simply Red (4), Jason Derulo (12), Major Lazer (20), Melody Gardot (22), Soak (25), The Rifles (29) and Paradise Lost (37).

Meanwhile, in the Official Singles Chart, Natalie La Rose is on course to score this week’s Number One with Jeremih collaboration, ‘Somebody’.

The track – which interpolates Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ and LMFAO’s ‘Shots’ – has already enjoyed worldwide chart success, reaching the Top 10 in the USA and Top 20 Australia, Belgium, Netherlands and South Africa.

The full chart rundown is announced on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (June 7).
