MF Doom pulls out of Flying Lotus show

Rapper will be replaced by Jay Electronica at Brixton Academy tonight

MF Doom will not appear with Flying Lotus at the O2 Academy Brixton tonight (May 1). The rapper will be replaced by Jay Electronica.

According to a tweet from the O2 Brixton Academy, MF Doom is unable to support Flying Lotus “due to flight issues”.

Flying Lotus also confirmed Doom’s omission from the line-up. He tweeted that the rapper had “flaked” which was “kinda predicted.” See both tweets below.

Tonight’s show at Brixton Academy will also feature Shabazz Palaces, Lapalux and Kutmah.

Electronic producer Flying Lotus released his fifth studio album ‘You’re Dead!’ in October.

At the start of the year he took to Twitter to reveal his follow up plans, telling fans he was currently writing a film.

“I’m just having too much fun making beats and writing this stupid movie,” he told one Twitter user, before adding: “Had a few story ideas that kind of intersected when I went to tokyo. So I been writing this movie for fun moments.Who knows what will happen”.
