Foals’ ‘Spanish Sahara’ voted Shockwaves NME Awards Best Track

Cee Lo Green, Gorillaz and Mark Ronson lose out to Oxford band

Foals‘Spanish Sahara’ has been voted Best Track at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011.

The other nominees in the category were Cee Lo Green‘s ‘Fuck You’, Gorillaz‘Stylo’, Janelle Monae featuring Big Boi‘s ‘Tightrope’ and Mark Ronson & The Business Intl‘s ‘Bang Bang Bang’.

The award was handed out tonight (February 23) at the London O2 Academy Brixton by Misfits actors Iwan Rheon and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett. The category is supported by NME Radio.

Last year The Big Pink won the award for their song ‘Dominos’.

The NME Awards Big Gig takes place on Friday (25). Godlike Genius Dave Grohl‘s band Foo Fighters headline, with Cee Lo Green, Band Of Horses and No Age also on the bill.
