Band says it would be the perfect present for the festival's 40th anniversary
The band, who played the John Peel Stage at the weekend, said in a video interview – available to watch on the right of your screen now – that it would be the perfect present for the festival founder.
“For Michael Eavis‘ birthday and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Glastonbury, I’d get Monica Bellucci to give him a golden shower,” joked frontman Yannis Philippakis.
The singer also took a dig at Bono after U2 pulled out of this year’s three-day bash.
“Somebody said ‘Stevie Wonder is blind and he can still play, so what’s wrong with Bono‘s back?'” he said, before guitarist Jimmy Smith quipped: “He’s standing too close to The Edge.”
The band also said they are hoping to start work on their third album soon. “It’s going to be called ‘Thug Punk’, ‘Thug Punk Part II’,” Philippakis joked. “It’s going to be West Coast meets skate punk.”
