Foals have promised that their upcoming UK arena tour will be “feisty, savage and fucking special”.
NME joined Foals on the road in Colombia for an exclusive cover feature, as the band begin their campaign for world domination. February 2016 will see the band play arenas in Britain for the first time, including a gig at London’s Wembley Arena.
“It’s going to be feisty,” said frontman Yannis Philippakis, looking ahead to the tour. “We’re gonna go out there and make it savage, give it intensity and fuck shit up.”
The tour means a lot to the band but they aren’t going to let the shows scare them. “Wembley is just a seven-letter word to me,” Philippakis insists. “But I know it means something. I’m excited about these shows. It’s going to be sweet. Playing Alexandra Palace felt big when we did it and this feels like the next step up. I do have some reservations about arenas. For a while I guess I had this punk guilt that had me thinking, ‘How are we gonna translate our energy?’ But I just think, and I don’t want this to sound conceited, but if we’re there, we’ll make it something really fucking special.”
Foals tour the UK in February 2016. The arena tour dates begin in Glasgow at the Hydro venue on February 12.
Foals’ tour will then take in gigs in Manchester, London and Birmingham. The run of huge gigs will then come to an end on February 20 at Leeds First District Arena.

Glasgow, The SSE Hydro (February 12)
Manchester, Arena (February 13)
London, The SSE Arena, Wembley (February 16)
