Reading and Leeds Festival boss: ‘Foals are an amazing band and they will be a future headliner’

Melvin Benn reveals one headline band has already been booked for 2016 event

Reading and Leeds Festival organiser Melvin Benn has said that he is convinced that Foals will headline the festival one day, but confirmed that while one headline act is already booked for 2016 it is not the Oxford band.

In the video interview you can see above, Benn praises the band and says: “I’ve made no secret of the fact that I want Foals as headliners.”

However, Foals rise to the top of the bill might not be as immediate at next year’s festival. “Will it be next year? or the year after?” Benn added. “There’s no decisions on that, no discussions on it. Foals are an amazing band and they will be a future headliner.”

Benn did, however, confirm that one headline act is booked for 2016 and that they boast a “drummer, bassist, guitar and singer” among their ranks.
