Band also performed an exclusive version of 2005 song 'Miracle' for host David Letterman
Foo Fighters continued their week-long residency on David Letterman’s The Late Show with special guest Tony Joe White joining the band for a cover of his song ‘Polk Salad Annie’
Meanwhile, in an online exclusive performance, Letterman got Foo Fighters to perform their 2005 song ‘Miracle’, taken from the album ‘In Your Honor’, for him. The host explained how the song has significance for him as it was used to soundtrack a video of him and his son skiing together when the boy was a small child. You can see both performances below, now.
Earlier this week Foo Fighters’ first performance saw them cover ‘War Pigs’ by Black Sabbath while on Tuesday night (October 14) they were joined by Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson to play ‘Kick It Out’.
Foo Fighters’ eighth album, ‘Sonic Highways’, will be released on November 10. As previously revealed to NME, Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen are among the guests who feature on the record.
Sonic Highways, the documentary which takes viewers behind the scenes as Foo Fighters record their new album in different studios around America, will air in the UK on BBC Four beginning Sunday, October 26. The eight-episode series will then be split between BBC Four and BBC iPlayer, with episodes three to six available exclusively online. The final two episodes will then be shown on BBC Four.
