Foo Fighters cover Roky Erickson’s ‘Two Headed Dog’ – watch

Band laid down original cover to celebrate 40 years of 'Austin City Limits'

Foo Fighters have covered ‘Two Headed Dog’ by Roky Erickson. See below to watch.

The cover was recorded for US TV show Austin City Limits, which is celebrating its 40th year in 2014. The series returns this week with a performance from Beck while Foo Fighters recorded their episode, which will air later in the year, while in Austin recording their new album ‘Sonic Highways’.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that Sonic Highways, the documentary taking viewers behind the scenes as Foo Fighters record their new album in different studios around America, is to air in the UK on BBC Four.

The show will start on BBC Four on Sunday, October 26. The eight-episode series will then be split between BBC Four and BBC iPlayer, with episodes three to six available exclusively online. The final two episodes will then be shown on BBC Four.

Each episode is set in a different city and studio as the band record a new song for their forthcoming ‘Sonic Highways’ album. Over the course of the series, Foo Fighters visit Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington DC. Each episode culminates with the band performing the track they created in each of the eight cities.

‘Sonic Highways’, the album, will be released on November 10 and is the band’s eighth studio effort. As previously revealed to NME, Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen are among the guests who feature on the record.
