Foo Fighters’ ‘Wasting Light’ ends Adele’s albums chart reign

LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' is the new Number One single

Foo Fighters have gone straight to Number One in the albums chart tonight (April 17) with their new record ‘Wasting Light’.

Dave Grohl‘s band ended Adele‘s record-breaking eleven-week reign at the summit in the process – ’21’ moves down to Number 2, while the Tottenham soul singer’s debut album ’19’ is at Number 3.

New entries included Alison Krauss & Union Station‘s ‘Paper Airplane’ at Number 11 and Metronomy‘s third studio album ‘The English Riviera’, which went in at Number 28.

TV On The Radio‘s new record ‘Nine Types Of Light’ went in at Number 33.

In the singles chart, LMFAO‘s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ – a collaboration with Lauren Bennett and GoonRock – climbed to Number One after spending four weeks on the chart.

Lady Gaga scored a new entry at Number 14 with ‘Judas’, which was rush-released on Friday (April 15) after leaking online.

Arctic Monkeys‘ new single ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’ went in at Number 28, while Dionne Bromfield entered the chart at Number 36 with ‘Yeah Right’.
