Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that the band have set out their new album ‘Wasting Light’ as if it were a live setlist.

Speaking to NME before the band headlined the NME Awards Big Gig last week (February 25) in a video which you can watch above now, Grohl said the band like the idea of playing the album live in order.

The band played a career-spanning set at the NME Awards Big Gig, rather than playing ‘Wasting Light’ in order as they did at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 when Grohl was named as NME Godlike Genius. But Grohl says he believes the album makes perfect sense to played live in full in order.

He said: “The new record is sequenced like a setlist. It all makes perfect sense to me. Even if they weren’t in that order on the record, I think that’s the order we’d put them in to play them.”

Foo Fighters return to the UK to headline T In The Park and play Milton Keynes Bowl in July.

‘Wasting Light’ is released on April 11.
