The Foo Fighters mainman gets to work with his heroes...

DAVE GROHL is to play drums on the new album from KILLING JOKE.

The Foo Fighters frontman will appear on the record, which has a working title of ‘Axis Of Evil’, and due out in the summer, according to Billboard magazine.

The pairing is said to have come together because of Grohl’s love of the veteran band. He met bandmember Jaz Coleman in New Zealand earlier this year, when Foo Fighters were on the Big Day Out tour. Coleman joined Foo Fighters onstage in Auckland, where they performed the Killing Joke classic ‘Requiem’. Following that meeting, the pair agreed to work together.

Foo Fighters are just about to start a US tour.

As previously revealed on NME.COM, the band also play this year’s V Festival, which takes place over the weekend of August 16 and 17 at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire.
