Dave Grohl invites Foo Fighters fan onstage to play drums with band for birthday – watch

Anthony Bifolchi performed with the group in Toronto

A Foo Fighters fan performed live with the band at the group’s gig in Toronto last week (July 9).

The fan in question, Anthony Bifolchi, had made a sign which read “It’s my birthday, can I play drums?”. Frontman Dave Grohl spotted the sign and invited Bifolchi onstage, telling him: “You better not suck!”

Asking the fan what song he wanted to play live, Bifolchi opted for ‘Best Of You’, to which Grohl replied: “No way you’re playing that, that’s our last song!”

Bifolchi eventually performed ‘Big Me’ with the band, with Grohl later admitting “That was actually pretty good”.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters were forced to scrap their show on Saturday night (July 11) in Quebec City due to bad weather.

A storm hit shortly after Foo Fighters’ front-of-stage curtain was unveiled, strong winds and battering rain threatening to whip it away before the band’s gear was unveiled.

The band performed only four songs in total: ‘Everlong’ ‘Monkey Wrench’, ‘Learn to Fly’ and ‘Something From Nothing’.

Foo Fighters later took to Twitter to apologise to fans for the show’s cancellation. They wrote: “Quebec City, we’ll be back…Mother Nature always wins”.
