FOOS LEARNING TO FLY AGAIN

Dave Grohl and co. celebrate new line-up with hush-hush club date...

The Foo Fighters showed off their new guitarist less than a week after he joined the band on Friday (September 3) at a gig in Hollywood.

Ex-No Use For A Name, guitarist Chris Shiflett is currently only with the band as a live performer, but Dave Grohl has said he hopes to make him a permanent member soon.

The gig, held at the Troubador, West Hollywood, was an unplanned surprise where the band were billed under the pseudonym Stacked Actors after a song on their forthcoming third album. They played eleven songs, including three new tracks – ‘Stacked Actors’, ‘Breakout’ and ‘Learn To Fly’.

After the gig, Dave Grohl said the new line-up had only rehearsed five times. “We were rusty, and it was scary” he admitted.

Shiflett, meanwhile, said he enjoyed his debut. “Luckily I was familiar with most of the songs. I’m a big fan of the band anyway.”
