Foo Fighters dedicate song to Taylor Swift during Radio 1’s Big Weekend headline set – watch

'I'm officially obsessed, she might want to get a restraining order,' Dave Grohl tells crowd

Foo Fighters closed BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Norwich on Sunday (May 24), dedicating a song from their set to singer Taylor Swift.

Performing ‘Congregation’ from latest album ‘Sonic Highways’, Dave Grohl announced that the rendition was in honour of Swift. The band had written and recorded the song in Swift’s hometown of Nashville.

Grohl told the crowd: “I’m officially obsessed, she might want to get a restraining order because I’m all about Swift. I’m going to dedicate this song to Taylor Swift, how about that? This one goes out to my opening band, Taylor Swift.” Watch footage below.

Taylor Swift also performed during the Sunday leg of Radio 1’s Big Weekend, performing on the main stage prior to Foo Fighters. Watch Swift performing ‘Shake It Off’ beneath.

Saturday night of the Radio 1 Big Weekend saw Muse headline a bill that included Florence + The Machine, The Vaccines and Charli XCX. Jamie T, Alt-J and Catfish & The Bottlemen also played live on Sunday.

Foo Fighters kick off their UK tour on Monday (May 25). They will be supported by Royal Blood, Teenage Fanclub, Iggy Pop, Kaiser Chiefs, Honeyblood and God Damn along the way. See the band’s full dates below.
