Foster The People announce one-off Manchester gig – ticket details

They will play the Ritz on June 26 in support of their new album 'Supermodel'

Foster The People are set to play a one-off UK show at Manchester’s Ritz on June 26.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 9am on March 14. The gig will follow their special show at London’s Troxy on March 24 and the release of their new album ‘Supermodel’ on the same day. The band were also recently added to the bill for Reading and Leeds Festivals in August.

Mark Foster has discussed the band’s second album with NME, saying he was “angry” when he wrote it. “I look back at some songs now and think, ‘Wow, I was really angry when I wrote that!'” he commented. The album was recorded with producer Paul Epworth in a riad studio in Morocco as well as in Los Angeles and follows the band’s debut ‘Torches’, which was released in 2011. In terms of lyrical themes on the record, Foster previously explained to NME: “One of the biggest themes is consumerism and the ugly side of capitalism.”
