It's a ten-minute monster...
Four Tet have uncovered a cover of Eric Prydz’s ‘Opus’, launching a ten-minute version of the track yesterday (October 2).
The track was played on Pete Tong’s Radio One show earlier this week, with Annie Mac commenting “I feel like I’ve been launched into space.” It features a six-minute breakdown.
The release follows the completion of Prydz’s ‘Pryda 10’ series, which has seen the Swedish DJ launch 22 tracks over the past few months, across three volumes. The original version of Opus came out in July, and also clocked in at an impressive nine minutes before Four Tet got hold of it.
Four Tet launched his latest ‘Morning/ Evening’ back in July, and recently posted a new track under the guise ‘Percussions’. The psychedelic DJ is playing a number of UK and Ireland dates in the coming weeks and months, as follows:
Warehouse, Manchester (10 October)
Academy, Brixton (16)
Tuesday Club, Sheffield (20)
Metropolis Festival, Dublin (November 7)
Roundhouse, London (February 13)
It seems that Fout Tet used Twitter to get a shot at the track, having specifically requested the chance to remix it back in July:
Eric Prydz evidently took note. Listen to Four Tet’s version of the track via YouTube, below:
