Foxy Brown summoned back to court

Singer accused of violating her probation

Rapper Foxy Brown – real name Inga Marchand – was summoned to court in New York yesterday (December 11), following claims she violated her probation resulting from a fight in a nail salon two years ago.

According to a lawyer for the City Department Of Probation, Brown has failed to keep appointments with her probation officers, submit drug tests and has not showed up for anger management classes.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty in August to assaulting two employees at a branch of Bloomie’s nail salon chain in an argument over payment.

According to the Associated Press, Brown said all her drugs tests had come back “negative, perfect” and that she missed probation appointments because she was forced to sit in a Brooklyn probation office “with all kinds of criminals” and no security, claiming, “My safety was in jeopardy. I didn’t think they were going to throw me in with the wolves.”

The judge warned Brown she would be sentenced to jail if she broke the terms of her probation, and refused to let her speak until her next court appearance, when her lawyer is present.
