Will Joey Santiago be there?...

Former PIXIES frontman FRANK BLACK has announced details of a New Year UK tour with current band THE CATHOLICS to support his forthcoming new album, NME.COM can reveal.

Black (aka Black Francis, real name Charles Thompson) will play 10 shows kicking off in Glasgow on February 10 and rounding off in London on February 21.

New album, ‘Dog In The Sand’, will be released through Cooking Vinyl on January 29. It will be preceded by a single ‘Robert Onion’ on January 8.

Already fans are beginning to wonder whether or not former Pixies guitarist Joey Santiago will join Black onstage. Santiago plays on several ‘Dog In The Sand’ album tracks, the first time he and Black have recorded since the Pixies fifth and final album ‘Trompe Le Monde’ in 1991. A spokesperson for the singer said Black had “intimated” that a live reunion was on the cards. And Black himself gave a clear indication last month (November 15) when during a rare solo performance, at London’s Underworld, he apologised to fans who had expected Santiago to show saying “I’m sure we’ll get together next time round”.

The tour dates in full are:

Glasgow, King Tuts (February 10)

Middlesbrough, Cornerhouse (12)
