Frank Ocean Producer Malay responds to rumours of a Zayn collaboration

Malay has laid speculation over a potential collaboration to rest

Frank Ocean producer Malay] has responded to rumours of a possible collaboration between Zayn Malik and Ocean.

Fans hoping for a joint track from the two artists had their hopes dashed when Malay put an end to speculation during a Q&A on Reddit.

Replying to one Redditor’s question, Malay admitted that he hadn’t heard of any collaboration currently in the works.

Malay, who worked on Ocean’s 2012 album ‘Channel Orange’, also produced a number of songs on Zayn’s debut ‘Mind of Mine’, released earlier this year.

The producer also offered an explanation for the delay of Ocean’s new album ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.

Earlier this week, Apple’s support team appeared to suggest that the release of the long-awaited record is immanent.

Meanwhile, Ocean’s debut album ‘Channel Orange’ has re-entered the US charts.

Following the no-show of its follow-up, the record has seen a 40 percent spike in sales and is now at number 146 on the Billboard 200. It is the first time it has appeared in the charts since May 2013.
