Frank Ocean’s brother responds to fan’s plan to kidnap him and hold to ransom until album drops

Ryan Breaux says he's 'shook' following Reddit thread

Frank Ocean‘s younger brother, Ryan Breaux, has responded to a fan’s plan to kidnap him in order to blackmail his famous sibling into dropping his long-awaited new album.

‘Boys Don’t Cry’, the much anticipated follow-up to the R&B singer’s critically acclaimed 2012 debut ‘Channel Orange’, was first expected to be released in July 2015 but when it failed to surfaced, fans speculated that it would be released in July of this year instead. The latter deadline has now passed and the album still hasn’t arrived, despite reports that it would stream via Apple Music last Friday (August 5).

One Reddit user recently contemplated taking matters into his own hands, posting a message that read: “Guys I have the perfect idea. Why don’t we just kidnap Ryan and not give him back until Frank drops the album?” When fellow users responded sarcastically, the original author added: “He’ll be fine with us, we’re responsible adults.”

Ocean’s brother Ryan posted a screenshot of the Reddit thread to Twitter, along with the caption: “BRUUH”. Responding to a comment that “shit [is] getting dangerous”, Ryan went on to described himself as “shook”. See those tweets below.

Last August, Ocean’s brother ‘rickrolled’ Ocean’s fans that were awaiting his new album.

Earlier this week, the magazine expected to accompany Ocean’s album appeared to leak online.

Despite a recent livestream suggesting Ocean’s record will be released soon, fans are now speculating that the record will actually be out in November instead.

Ocean posted a “due date” library-style card in July, which suggested the record had been pushed back more than 15 times. On it, July 2016 was stamped in red, leading people to believe that was when the album was coming.

The card also featured the date November 13, 2016 stamped in black, as Fuse notes, and it’s being suggested that that is ‘Boys Don’t Cry”s true release date.
