Young Thug and Henry Rollins also among fashion house’s latest models
Frank Ocean is to star in Calvin Klein’s new campaign.
The fashion house shared the names of the stars of its Fall 2016 range in a Snapchat video, revealing that Young Thug, Henry Rollins, Kate Moss, Grace Coddington and Margot Robbie will also be among its models.
Other names for the campaign include Real Madrid striker James Rodriguez and Vine star Cameron Dallas.
Each model is asked what their idea of love is. Moss says love is good for diamond and Robbie describes it as terrifying and painful.
In an extended advert, Ocean is shown wearing Calvin Klein underwear and talking about what music means to him. He said: “If you keep it up for four or five weeks, and then you stop, you feel like you’re missing something in your day. That’s what music is for me – it feels like a necessary act.”
Talking about love, Ocean adds: “It takes a mind to worry, a conscience to feel ashamed, but there’s no place to hide out here. You romanticise what’s in the past – which is fantasy, but it’s not how I want it done. Fantasy plays the role of a supplement. You draw on fantasy to make things hyper-real.”
Ocean’s appearance in the campaign comes with the latest possible information surrounding the follow-up to his 2012 album ‘Channel Orange’. Having long been reported to be called ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, Ocean this week teased a possible July release date for the new record with a library card stamped with the dates of past reported dates for ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ before the latest, unstamped date showed July 2016.
