Turner updates fans from the studio, where he and his band are recording with producer Butch Walker

Frank Turner has announced that he has begun recording his sixth album in Nashville.

Turner announced the news via an Instagram photo posted on Saturday (December 6). The frontman said that he and his band, The Sleeping Souls, are in Nashville working with producer Butch Walker – whose production credits include Taylor Swift, The Wombats and Panic! At The Disco.

“Getting our first takes down on tape. Playing this fucker live,” the singer captioned the Instagram video, scanning around a recording studio to introduce The Sleeping Souls on camera.

He plays solo at Manchester’s Night and Day Cafe and London’s 93 Feet East in January in support of local music venues under threat of closure, before touring Australia and New Zealand with his full band in April.

Turner’s most recent studio album ‘Tape Deck Heart’ was released in 2013.
