Frontman Alex Kapranos enthuses to NME.COM about the reaction to the band's new songs at London's Brixton Academy...
Franz Ferdinand closed their UK tour in style at LONDON BRIXTON ACADEMY last night (October 30).
The band played a 16-song set at their third sold-out night at the venue. As well as the big hits, Franz Ferdinand played three new songs – ’This Boy’, ’I’m Your Villain’ and ’Your Diary’.
Frontman Alex Kapranos told NME.COM: “It was great, I really enjoyed it tonight. I was delighted with the way the new stuff went down, people seemed to be really into it.
”I looked out during ’This Boy’ and there were loads of people singing the words back at me. It was amazing!”
The full set was:
’Tell Her Tonight’
’Take Me Out’
’I’m Your Villain’
’Come On Home’
’Darts Of Pleasure’
’Love And Destroy’
’Cheating On You’
Franz Ferdinand start recording their new album in January, and Kapranos has told NME.COM it will be “less precise and less cold” than their self-titled debut and it will be produced by the band themselves. It’s expected to feature all the new songs the band have been playing live.
