Franz Ferdinand paid tribute to JOHN PEEL at their show in MANCHESTER last night with a special cover version.
The group appeared at the Manchester Apollo (October 26) as part of their UK tour.
In honour of Peel, the band covered his favourite song, ’Teenage Kicks’ by The Undertones.

It had been announced earlier in the day that the veteran DJ had died of a heart attack while on holiday in Peru.
Other tributes took place across London Hope Of The States’ gig at the London Astoria the band dedicated final song ’Static In The Cities’ to Peel.
At the end of the song a screen behind the stage carried the message ‘All Of It For John Peel – You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
