The band of the moment play to just 150 fans at the exclusive bash...

Franz Ferdinand played to 500 fans at a special instore gig in a LONDON record store last night (February 9).

Fans crowded into the basement of Oxford Street’s HMV from 8pm onwards to hear the band play tracks from their self-titled debut album, released yesterday.

Wristbands for the show were distributed to the first 150 people who had bought the album from the shop that morning.

The band played: ‘Jacqueline’

‘Tell Her Tonight’

‘Take Me Out’

‘Cheating On You’

‘Darts Of Pleasure’

Earlier that day the band played a similar show at Virgin Megastore in their native town of Glasgow where they broke the store’s record – previously held by the Manic Street Preachers – for numbers of albums sold after an instore performance.
