Demand forces the Scots popsters to add a third night in the UK capital - and they've been forced to upgrade many other venues...

Franz Ferdinand are to play a third date in LONDON on their forthcoming UK tour, to cope with the huge demand for tickets.

The Scottish four-piece will now play the Coronet on May 7, having sold out two nights at the Astoria on May 5 and 6 almost immediately.

The band have also been forced to upgrade many of the shows on the tour to bigger venues, and have added a second night at the QMU in their native Glasgow on April 13. The extra date has already sold out.

Currently tearing through the country on the NME Awards Tour with Funeral For A Friend, Von Bondies and Rapture, Franz Ferdinand will hit Leeds University tonight (February 2).
