FRANZ FERDINAND, BELLE & SEBASTIAN, MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY, MOGWAI and TRAVIS are amongst the acts joining forces for a one-off concert next month to raise money for the tsunami victims.

The gig will take place at Glasgow’s SECC on February 19 and will also feature Deacon Blue, Idlewild, Kevin McDermott, Eddi Reader, Slam, Teenage Fanclub, Texas and Trash Can Sinatras.

Tickets for event went on sale today (January 23) and organisers hope that the ten thousand capacity venue will sell out to reach their fundraising target of £250,000.

Money raised from the show will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Tsunami Earthquake Appeal.

A spokesperson for the Concert For Tsunami Relief said: “February 19 2005 will go down as one of the most incredible nights in Scottish music history. We’ve been amazed by the huge generosity of the artists, the venue and the various operators in the live music scene in Scotland who are giving their time and facilities to raise money for the DEC appeal.

“With this fantastic line up now announced, we are urging music fans to buy tickets as quickly as possible to contribute to a very worthwhile cause and to make sure that they are part of this unique and exciting event.”

Tickets are priced at £28.50 and are available by calling 0870 040 4000 or through www.secctickets.com.
