The band are forced to make changes to 'Michael''s tracklisting...

Franz Ferdinand have had to change the format of their single after it became chart ineligible.

The band released their latest single ’Michael’ yesterday (August 16), but have been forced to take one of the B-sides off the single.

A statement explains why. It reads: “Due to a rather silly schoolboy error, we neglected to realise that the inclusion of three tracks on both CD single formats would mean that ‘Michael’ CD2 would become ‘chart-ineligible’. “

The statement continues: “Victims of ours and Franz Ferdinand’s own generosity (lavishing five new B-sides on their fans across all the formats), we would like to apologise in advance as CD2 will now be re-packaged and released without the ‘offending’ third track, ‘Tell Her Tonight (Paul Sings)’.”

The song is now being offered as a download via the band’s official and Domino websites, as of today. They can be found at dominorecordco.com.
