Franz Ferdinand, Streets and KELIS are among the acts confirmed for RADIO 1’s ONE BIG WEEKEND.

The full line-up for Radio 1 and BBC Live’s first major event of 2004, One Big Weekend, has been announced this morning (April 2).

The free mini festival will take place on April 24-25 in Prehen Fields, Derry-Londonderry, with Saturday dedicated to dance and Sunday to live artists and bands.

There are 10,000 free tickets for each day up for grabs. Radio 1 will host two special ticket-giveaways from 5pm on Saturday 10 April and from 8am on Friday 16 April in Guildhall Square, Derry-Londonderry. The ticket office will close once all the tickets are gone.

Local clubnight Deep Fried Funk and Celtronic DJs join forces to present a second stage showcasing the best local DJs.

The stage is hosted by Radio 1 DJs Chris Moyles, Colin Murray, Edith Bowman, Vernon Kaye, Scott Mills and Spoony.

Radio 1 will also be holding an evening of free workshops, demo-listening and music business advice sessions hosted by Scott Mills at the Nerve Centre in Derry-Londonderry on Friday April 23 from 5pm-9pm.
