Kate Nash also contributes to the cult Canadian personality's record
Franz Ferdinand and The Cribs have recorded cover versions of tracks by Canadian bands for the ‘Nardwuar and The Evaporators present… Busy Doing Nothing’ LP.
The Scottish band recorded a version of ‘Real Thing’ by Vancouver based punk outfit Pointed Sticks and The Cribs paid tribute to The Dishrags, by covering their 1980 single ‘Death In The Family’.
Kate Nash also appears in the compilation with a cover of ‘My Chinchilla’ – a regular in her most recent tour setlist – by 1990’s “cuddlecore” band Cub.
The album, available online on Tuesday (March 6), has been compiled by Canadian interviewer and musician Nardwuar The Human Serviette.
Nardwuar is a cult personality, famous for his eccentric interviews with musicians including Kurt Cobain and Katy Perry. Along with working as a DJ, he is also lead singer of pop punk band The Evaporators.
The Cribs are currently readying their fifth studio album ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull’, due for release on May 7.
The tracklisting is as follows:
‘I Hate Being Late When I’m Early’
‘Death In The Family’
‘Welcome To My Castle’
‘Hot Dog High’
‘Busy Doing Nothing’
‘Bring It On Home’
‘All The Bad Girls’
‘Interview (Nardwuar Vs Franz Ferdinand)’
