Franz Ferdinand: ‘You don’t need to watch bands to enjoy Glastonbury’ – video

Alex Kapranos could be doing himself out of a job

Franz Ferdinand have said they enjoyed Glastonbury so much that they reckon fans don’t even need to watch bands like them to have a good time.

Speaking in an exclusive NME.COM video interview below, singer Alex Kapranos hailed the scope of the event and the fans who turn up year on year.

“It’s not just a rock festival, there’s so much more going on, you can walk around Glastonbury, have an amazing time and not watch a single band,” he said.

“I think that’s what makes it different from any other festival. It’s also an incredibly comprehensive festival in terms of the demographic of people that come to it.

“It’s not like just an indie crowd or a rock crowd… It’s everybody. There’s a sliver of every part of society here apart from the unpleasant ones!”
