Fun Lovin’ Criminals have left their American label but are continuing to make plans for their new album.
The band were signed to Virgin Records in the US though they are on EMI/Chrysalis in the UK.
When EMI America closed, the band moved to Virgin but have never had good relations with the label. Despite their considerable success in UK and Europe, Fun Lovin’ Criminals do not attract similar attention in their home country.
The band are now expected to continue recording what is rumoured to be a lounge-inspired album called ‘Mimosa’ next month. This will feature new tracks alongside B-sides, plus new versions of ‘Scooby Snacks’ and ‘Bombin’ The L (circa 1956)’. It will also include versions of Sinatra’s ‘Summer Wind featuring Echo And The Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch and 10CC’s ‘I’m Not In Love’.
