Fun Lovin’ Criminals are recording a mini album in New York, set for an autumn release on Chrysalis.
The follow-up to last year’s ‘100% Columbian’ album has been described as “loungecore” by the band’s UK spokesman.
He told NME: “It’s basically Fun Lovin’ Criminals unplugged.”
The new record will be the first to feature the talents of new drummer Mackie, who made his name with New York hardcore band The Cro-Mags.
Mackie took over from previous drummer Steve Borovini who left the band after injuring his hand on tour last year.
Meanwhile, the band’s frontman Huey DiFontaine was held overnight in a New York police cell for smoking marijuana last week (June 16).
The singer was released after a night in jail and will not face any charges, despite allegedly being caught smoking a joint with friends on a Manhattan street corner.
The incident will not affect FLC‘s upcoming UK dates at the T in the Park festival at Balado, Kinross on July 10 and the Reading (August 28) and Leeds (29) festivals.
