Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring raps in new track ‘Lavender Chunk’ – listen

The singer collaborates with hip-hop artist Scallops Hotel under his Hemlock Ernst moniker

Future Islands frontman Samuel T. Herring has appeared on a new track by hip-hop artist Scallops Hotel.

The song, titled ‘Lavender Chunk’, will appear on the upcoming Scallops Hotel album ‘Plain Speaking’, out May 5. This cut features Herring rapping under his alternate moniker of Hemlock Ernst. Listen below.


Future Islands recently revealed new song ‘The Chase’, which was recorded specially for Record Store Day 2015. The song was recorded direct to vinyl at Studio Three at London’s famous Abbey Road studios last month (March).
