Future Islands to release new song ‘The Chase’ for Record Store Day

Only one store in the world will stock the Abbey Road recorded vinyl release

Future Islands are to release new song ‘The Chase’ for Record Store Day (April 18).

The song was recorded direct to vinyl at Studio Three at London’s famous Abbey Road studios last month, with 4AD, the band’s record label, posting a photograph on Facebook of the group outside Abbey Road, which you can see above.

The band debuted ‘The Chase’ alongside ‘The Haunted’ on their recent tour of the UK – watch live versions below. Only one record store in the world will stock ‘The Chase’. Stores have been asked to put their names into a virtual hat via social media in order to be in the running to stock the single copy of the song. A press release reads: “Abbey Road will pick one retailer out at random on Thursday evening and deliver the lacquer direct to their store by Saturday morning.”

Future Islands will play the following UK and Ireland dates:

London Hyde Park (w/ The Strokes) (June 18)
Dorset End Of The Road Festival (September 4-6)
Laois Electric Picnic (4-6)
Manchester Academy (8)
Glasgow Barrowlands (9)
Newcastle O2 Academy (10)
Isle Of Wight Bestival (12)
