Your Demise and Black Hole men are in the frame, but the favourite has been ruled out
Speculation is buzzing as to who will be announced as the new singer of Gallows.
The hardcore punks have been looking for a new singer since Frank Carter announced he was leaving the band in July and have now set a date for the naming of his replacement.
The man seen as the frontrunner, Tom Lacey, former frontman with The Ghost Of A Thousand, who have frequently toured with Gallows, has been officially ruled out of contention.
Despite a message on the band’s Wikipedia page Wikipedia/Gallows naming Lacey as the new singer and Carter describing the new man as “a great friend” in a recent interview, the band have since said that he will definitely not be joining the band. The band’s publicist also confirmed this, telling NME:
I know it makes sense as The Ghost Of A Thousand have just split up, but I can assure you it is definitely not Tom Lacey.
More surprisingly being mentioned as a candidate is Richard Carter, the younger brother of former vocalist Frank and guitarist Steph, whose band Blackhole split up late last year.
There have also been whispers that Rolo Tomassi‘s Eva Spence and Comeback Kid‘s Scott Wade are in contention, but neither are thought to be likely choices.
The band have said they will announce Carter‘s replacement on August 9.
