The fallen star and convicted paedophile is deported from Cambodia for suspected sex offences against boys...

Paedophile fallen pop star GARY GLITTER spent Christmas in jail in Cambodia for suspected sex offences against boys, it has emerged today (January 7).

The former 70s favourite, jailed in Britain three years ago for downloading 4,000 pornographic photographs of children from the Internet, has now been deported after secret talks between British diplomats and Cambodian government officials in the capital, Phnom Penh, the London Evening Standard reports.

Glitter, arrested under his real name Paul Gadd, spent four days in a jail in Phnom Penh.

“Paul Gadd was deported after an agreement was reached between government officials and UK Government officials,” a spokesman for the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Department in Phnom Penh said. “He had been in custody but was released on bail.

“We understand he was arrested initially in regard to allegations of assault against young boys. He was given bail because of his age. The negotiations leading to his deportation were conducted while he was on bail and no charges were proceeded with.”
