It's a second week of seasonal joy for Gary Jules and Michael Andrews, while The Darkness swap with the Prince and Princess of Darkness

GARY Jules and Michael Andrews have held on to the top spot on the UK singles chart for a second week running tonight, ensuring that their cover of Mad World claims both the Christmas Number One and New Year Number One spots.

Kelly and Ozzy Osbourne’s duet Changes has dislodged The Darkness from the Number Two slot, swapping places and moving up from Number Three this week.

Elsewhere, The Idols slid back two places from Five to Seven with their cover of Happy Xmas (War Is Over), leaving the way open for Will Young’s Leave Right Now and Black Eyed Peas’ Shut Up to step up one place each, to Numbers Five and Six respectively.

Cliff Richard’s seasonal effort Santa’s List plummeted from Number 13 to 22, the only other major mover in this week’s chart.
