Gay Dad are working on their new album and aim to return with a new single, ‘SOLDIER’, in May through London Records, nme.com can reveal.
The follow-up to last year’s ‘Leisure Noise’ LP is being made in a north London studio and nme.com will broadcast a live Gay Dad performance from the studio on April 13. The band will play two new tracks and talk about the making of the new album.
So far, the band have not recruited a permanent replacement for guitarist Charley Stone who left the band last year, but live guitarist Stewart Forrester joined them on their recent US tour with The Pretenders.
The new Gay Dad material is described as “harder edged” than the band’s previous output.
The album is slated for release around summer and it is expected the band could be playing some of the festivals, details to be announced nearer the time.
