It’s coming home! George Ezra urges fans to knock ‘Shotgun’ off number one in favour of ‘Three Lions’

C'MON ENGLAND.

George Ezra has urged his fans to download ‘Three Lions’ in a bid to knock his own song from the top of the charts.

Last Friday, it was confirmed that Ezra is sitting pretty at the top – after ‘Shotgun’ secured a second week at number one in the singles charts.

But as England fans dare to dream of World Cup glory, Ezra has now urged his fans to back the seminal 1996 song by David Baddiel, Frank Skinner & The Lightning Seeds.

“Thanks to you lovely people, Shotgun has been number one for two weeks running”, Ezra began his Twitter appeal.

“That is amazing, but I think it’s time we knock it off the number one spot with Three Lions. We go out, we download and we stream Three Lions and we get it to number one.

“And you know why? It’s because it’s coming home. Share this video, spread the word and get it to number one. COME ON ENGLAND!”

Ezra’s plea comes only two days before England take on Croatia in the World Cup semi-final.

It was today announced that the match will be screened in London’s Hyde Park.

As part of the British Summer Time, the match will be shown on screens positioned on the Great Oak Stage.

Up to 30,000 tickets will be available to fans and you can enter a ballot to win them here.
