The late Beatle’s sister returned to her car to find that the window had been smashed and a briefcase containing pictures of her with her brother, and lyrics to his songs, were removed.

Lou Harrison decided to travel down to the library from her home in Illinois so that fans could view the items for themselves.

She told local TV station KTHV: “There’s not enough things to leave for my grandchildren.”

“So I thought maybe if I could house them at the Clinton Library, where they could be on display, that all the Beatle people could enjoy seeing them.”

Lou Harrison is now appealing to fans to surf the internet in a bid to try and track down the stolen items.
