Ghostface Killah and Raekwon team-up on ‘Let The Record Spin’ – listen

Track to feature on Ghost and Adrian Younge's upcoming album 'Twelve Reasons to Die II'

Wu Tang Clan rappers and frequent collaborators Ghostface Killah and Raekwon have once again come together on new track ‘Let The Record Spin’.

The song is set to feature on ‘Twelve Reasons To Die II’, a forthcoming LP recorded by Ghost with producer Adrian Younge. The concept album is a follow-up to the first ‘Twelve Reasons To Die’ record, which was released in 2013. Click below to listen to ‘Let The Record Spin’.

Picking up the story where ‘Twelve Reasons to Die’ left off, this new record is set in mid-1970s New York. Raekwon, appearing on five tracks, plays the head of rising crime syndicate who must eventually come up against the supernatural Tony Starks (Ghostface Killah), whose remains have been partially used to create 12 vinyl records with special powers.

‘Twelve Reasons To Die II’ is due out July 10. Further guest spots come from RZA (who narrates the tale), Vince Staples and Bilal, among others.

The ‘Twelve Reasons To Die II’ tracklist is:

‘Powerful One’
‘Return Of The Savage’ (feat Raekwon & RZA)
‘King Of New York’ (feat Raekwon)
‘Rise Up’ (feat Scarub)
‘Daily News’
‘Get The Money’ (feat Vince Staples)
‘Death’s Invitation Interlude’ (feat RZA)
‘Death’s Invitation’ (feat Scarub, Lyrics Born & Chino XL)
‘Let The Record Spin Interlude’ (feat RZA)
‘Let The Record Spin’ (feat Raekwon)
‘Blackout’ (feat Raekwon)
‘Resurrection Morning’ (feat Raekwon & Bilal)
‘Life’s A Rebirth’ (feat RZA)

Ghostface’s last album ‘Sour Soul’ – another collaboration piece, this time with Badbadnotgood – was released in February. In advance of the record, a retro-themed video for the MF DOOM-featured track ‘Ray Gun’ was unveiled. The clip stars Odd Future’s Left Brain and is reminiscent of ’70s grindhouse cinema, fitting the album’s old school aesthetics.
