Girls Aloud thwart split rumours by signing new record deal

Band promise a new album next year

Girls Aloud have thwarted press rumours they are on the verge of splitting up by announcing a new three-album record deal with their label Fascination.

Reports suggesting the band were about to split have been circulating in the UK tabloids for some time, due in part to rumours that Cheryl Cole was ready to quit the band to launch a TV career in the US.

Cole, who was one of the judges on the last series of the UK version of ‘The X Factor’, is reportedly in the US working on new material with Will.i.am and Mika.
