Sugababes vs Girls Aloud are Number One

Sugababes vs Girls Aloud‘s Comic Relief track ‘Walk This Way’ has knocked Take That off the top spot of the UK singles chart.

The girl bands shot straight to the top of the charts with their cover of Run-DMC and Aerosmith‘s famous hit.

The Proclaimers also entered the chart at Number Three with a comedy version of their hit ‘(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles’, which also features Phoenix Night‘s Brian Potter and Little Britain‘s Andy Pipkin.

Elsewhere, The Fratellis were in at Number 24 with ‘Baby Fratelli’, Maximo Park went in at 30 with ‘Our Velocity’ on downloads alone as did The Twang who went in at 32 with debut single ‘Wide Awake’.

In the album chart X Factor loser Ray Quinn knocked Kaiser Chiefs off the Number One spot with his debut ‘Doing It My Way’.

The Leeds five-piece fell to Number Six with their second album ‘Yours Truly Angry Mob’.
