“When I first saw aespa, I was overwhelmed by the energy each member had,” said Givenchy’s creative director Matthew M. Williams, in a statement released by aespa’s label SM Entertainment

“As a group, I felt that the firm personality and style of each member of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning naturally connected with Givenchy’s sensitivity. The fashion of aespa means their own color,” he added.

This is the first time that Givenchy has selected Korean artists to represent the brand. It’s also a first for a K-pop group to be selected as brand ambassadors collectively. aespa have also expressed their delight in this partnership with the fashion industry giant.

The four-piece girl group officially debuted on November 17, 2020, with their first-ever single ‘Black Mamba’ on the same day. Earlier this month, aespa unveiled their sophomore release, ‘Forever’, a remake of South Korean singer-songwriter Yoo Young-in’s 2000 song of the same name.
