The pop-reggae star suffers the same fate as labelmate Shola Ama...

Pop-reggae star Glamma Kid has been dropped by his label WEA just weeks after the same fate befell Shola Ama.

The news came despite his debut album ‘Kidology’ hitting the shops just a month ago.

Glamma’s fate follows this week’s earlier news that teen R&B chanteuse Jamelia is four months pregnant, which will add to the limited amount of material emerging from the UK’s young soul posse.

This glum turn of events now places renewed emphasis on forthcoming material from established British soul acts like Omar and Sade, both of whom will be releasing new product next month.

But all is not lost. Dane Bowers, featured vocalist with garage outfit True Steppers and the former lead singer with Another Level, is putting the finishing touches to his forthcoming solo album, which has a distinct R&B flavour and will feature production by Shek’speare and Rodney Jerkins‘ studio partner, the Beatmaster. Bowers‘ currently untitled album will drop early next year.
